FCRA-exclusion policy
Permitted-use terms for the Ultra-Data platform under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).

Not a consumer reporting agency

Ultra-Data is not a consumer reporting agency as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. The information surfaced by this platform is not a consumer report and may not be used as a consumer report.

Prohibited uses

This platform may not be used, in whole or in part, to make — or to assist in making — any decision about:

  • employment, including hiring, retention, or promotion;
  • the extension of credit or creditworthiness;
  • housing, tenancy, or tenant screening;
  • insurance underwriting or eligibility;
  • any other purpose covered by the FCRA or an equivalent state law.

Public-record source categories

Ultra-Data surfaces findings from the following public-record source categories. Findings from property records, business filings, court records, and death records are public-record information — probabilistic, not verified, and presented with a confidence band, never a precise score. They may not be used, in whole or in part, for tenant, employment, credit, or insurance eligibility decisions, or for any other purpose covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

  • Property records: Ownership, sale history, assessed and market value, tax status, and recorded liens, drawn from county assessor and recorder public records.
  • Business filings: Company registrations, officers, and corporate filings drawn from Secretary-of-State and equivalent public business registries.
  • Court records: Civil judgments and liens, eviction (unlawful-detainer) judgments, and bankruptcy filings, drawn from public court dockets.
  • Death records: Decedent status drawn from pre-2014 public death records.

Per-query attestation

When a query matches a pattern associated with an FCRA-covered use, Ultra-Data requires you to attest, before the query runs, that the query is not for an FCRA-covered purpose. That attestation is recorded in the audit log. Submitting an attestation you know to be false is a violation of these terms and may be a violation of law.

Enforcement

Use of this platform for an FCRA-covered purpose is grounds for immediate suspension or termination of access. Ultra-Data monitors query patterns for screening-shaped usage and flags suspected violations for human review.
